I live on a mountaintop in West Virginia, where it is mostly just me and the trees, the wind and the birds, and the herds of deer traveling through the forest. By day, I am the arts editor at the Frederick News-Post in central Maryland. I’ve had a passion for writing as soon as I learned the alphabet (at one point, a boyfriend diagnosed me with hypergraphia, which is a real thing). I’ve also had a lifelong interest in mystical teachings, energy work, transpersonal psychology, astrology, dreamwork and plant medicine, which translated to my becoming a Reiki Master, as well as an herbalist through through Rosemary Gladstar’s Herbology program. I earned a BA in creative writing from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina, and my writing has been published in USA Today, The Washington Times, The Washington Examiner and the Pittsburgh City Paper, among others. My poetry has been published in The Front, Hedgeapple, Slice, Lines and Stars, and Hidden City Quarterly. My online shop of herbal products is at https://www.etsy.com/shop/flowersinthehouse, and I’d love to hear from you: Karmarocca@gmail.com.
